One of the bestselling non-fiction books on Amazon over the past year wasn’t on marriage or management, finances or fitness. It was on..astrophysics. As in, “What is the nature of space and time? Where do we fit within the universe? We are interested in cosmic headlines: from the Big Bang to Black holes, from the quarks to quantum mechanics, and from the search for planets to the search for life in the universe.
Biology tells us that more bacteria live and work in one centimeter of your colon than the number of people who have ever existed in the world.
Or take something as basic as water. There are more molecules in an 8-ounce cup of water than there are cups of water in all the world’s oceans.
There are more stars in the universe than grains of sand on any beach... more stars than seconds have passed since Earth formed... and more stars than all the words and sounds ever uttered by all the humans who ever lived.
So when you delve into these things, do they point away from God or toward Him? Do they weaken faith or do they strengthen it? Are they spiritually deadening or spiritually awakening? That’s what we’re going to explore in this series.
